Sons of the Culture Clash

Sons Of The Culture Clash doesn't believe in boxes. It believes in collisions.

Collisions between styles. Between generations. Between analogue chaos and digital nervous systems. Between what you think you're hearing and what's actually coming out of the speakers.

With Rudeboy and DJ DNA in the ranks, it's tempting to look back. Fair enough. Just don't stare for too long.

After more than a hundred shows under the Rudeboy Plays Urban Dance Squad banner, from festivals like Hellfest and Pukkelpop to legendary venues across Europe, the band decided it was time to break something new.

That's how Sons Of The Culture Clash came to life: a new outfit, new songs, and a renewed commitment to musical disobedience.

The ingredients may sound familiar. The outcome doesn't.

Grooves that bounce and bite. Guitars with a short fuse. Beats that refuse to follow the timetable. And a voice that still prefers lighting the fuse over explaining the instructions.

No nostalgia trip. No museum piece. No attempt to recreate a moment that already happened.

New songs lead the charge, but some Urban Dance Squad classics still refuse to retire gracefully. They remain part of the set for the simple reason that they still hit where they're supposed to.

Sons Of The Culture Clash picks up the spirit of fearless cross-pollination and throws it back into the wild, where rock, hip hop, funk, electronics, and whatever else gets in the way can collide without asking permission.

It may sound familiar.

Right up until it takes a sharp turn somewhere completely unexpected.
